"I looked on child rearing not only as a work of love and duty but as a profession that was fully as interesting and challenging as any honorable profession in the world and one that demanded the best I could bring to it."

Mothering
Sunday, May 10, 2009
This is a story of a man who asked out a woman [they looked a lot like the people in the picture above but skinnier, girl had shorter hair, and the boy had longer hair] and they dated until they fell in love with one another. The PG rating of the next part of the story is that their love spilled out and made kids.
Thing Two and Thing One
and I now get to celebrate a little holiday today: Mother's Day so Happy Mother's Day to the mother in your life... And a special thanks to my husband and boys for allowing me to be the coolest mom that I am!
In other news: today was my last day at work and I will miss my kiddos there *sniffles* but it will be nice to have Sundays with my family...

MOPS

I belong to my local MOPS chapter- there are several in my area- I had just picked the one closest to me. I have just finished my second year with this particular group and I truly enjoy the fellowship with other women/moms. I have just finished my first year on Steering [leadership board] and I was Publicity which is the "paper girl" position handling the newsletters, printed registration forms, handbook, and directory of members. It was a big task that I got overwhelmed with the website part of it so this coming year, I am doing it again but with more of me into it since I have already done the learning curve part and with a wonderful woman/fellow mom who has taken over the website for us.
The following is a basic statement about MOPS:
MOPS stands for Mothers Of PreschoolerS. MOPS International exists to meet the needs of every mom - urban, suburban, and rural moms, stay-at-home and working moms, teen, single, and married moms - moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be!
MOPS recognizes that the years from infancy to kindergarten are foundational in a mother-child relationship and are filled with unique needs.
So this weekend is our Steering Retreat- where all the woman who are volunteering for next year's steering team rent a beach house and we use Saturday to plan next year and the rest of the weekend [Friday evening, Saturday dinner out on the town, walks on the beach, meal-times, and Sunday morning] to bond. It is truly a wonderful time. I leave in 3 days! I am just so excited!

Baby Fever
Well now it is offical- the baby fever has spread from Mom to her darling boys... Cyrus wrapped up a little purple stuffed dragon into one of his blankies- a perfect swaddle- and was playing "Dad". Then Solomon says that he wishes to be a baby again and be cute! In the meantime I took pictures of the moment to share with you future husbands and fathers!
[Solomon's pose is his "cute" pose- the one that supposed to get him anything right?! Is it working?]

[Cyrus has an owie on his lip from a fall the other day at the park...]
