On May 2nd was Cyrus's 5th Birthday! Happy Birthday kiddo!

Every birthday boy needs a party hat and a Dr. Seuss fan needs a Cat-in-the-hat Hat.


Finally after a year of him talking about Batman for his birthday- he got it.

Cyrus speaks

Tautology or otherwise known as "self-evident truth"

Example: When you jump. You go up and down.
As he is eating strawberries he tell you "Mom I am eating strawberries." Yes I can see that.
"I will win or I will loose" [when playing a game]

The examples are true- straight from Cyrus' mouth.

Superbowl

Hope everyone had a great time watching the Superbowl...

Like a girl I was cheering on the pretty little red birdies... The Cardinals came so close to wining- I wish they had.

Dan worked yesterday so the boys and I started watching it together then during halftime- Dan came home and we drove over to friends' house where my camera didn't take pictures of their cute baby but here is one of Cyrus giving the dog some tummy rubbin' ...

Swimming lessons

Cyrus enjoyed his first swimming lesson. He'll be swimming Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons for two weeks.

Haircut

Before picture... As you can see Cyrus's hair is quite long and he didn't want it cut because "it hurts"
Then he decided to cut it himself, which I then buzz to make it neater but he got some spots/lines cut shorter than the buzz...

Dentist

Cyrus had a dentist appointment in the first week of December and this is what happens- see that sad little boy about to cry- it is because they cancelled the appointment and I didn't check my messages and found out it was cancelled when we got there. The boys love to go to the Dentist office. Not to worry- his cute, little sad face got happier with ice cream!

Christmas Program

Baseball!

Cyrus started his baseball skills class and he loves it!

Cyrus starts preschool

Cyrus started preschool at the same preschool that Solomon had gone to and that the whole family loves! Cyrus goes Mon, Tues, Thurs, and Fri 1-4pm. The first week was a little tough- going from 2 naps a week to none and waking up earlier to take Solomon to school but after a catch-up nap on Sunday- this week is going much better! He loves the same teachers that Solomon had and his new friends in class!

What's in your treasure chest Matey?

The other day, we were eating lunch and the very bored Cyrus decides to roll up his napkin and declares it to be a treasure map. Of course the treasure map leads to a treasure chest.

I thought to myself What would this boy value? and so I asked...

"Cyrus what would you find in the treasure chest?"

He promptly replied, "Ice Cream and Chocolate!"

I think it is safe to say that an Ice Cream Maker would top his Christmas Wish List!

Solomon chimed in after the parents' laughter started to die off that he would find toys in his treasure chest.

As for D and Me? Nothing like money in a treasure chest to make us happy.

Birthday Presents

With Dan out of town so much that I haven't had the opportunity to get Cyrus anything and wrap it up beforehand so we went shopping at one of our local toy stores, Green Frog. He had gotten some birthday money from Mimi that he could spend as well as a gift from Mom. He settled very quickly on a cape, shield, and these foam like swords. However, just being a knight is not as much fun as being a knight and fighting another knight and asked so nicely if he would have Solomon get knight stuff to wear too. It was so sweet that he wanted to share his birthday with Solomon. The pictures show that I said yes...

Ice Cream Cake

Cyrus really wanted ice cream rather than cake for his birthday. We convinced him that ice cream cake really rocks. He is blowing out all 4 candles...

Happy Birthday Cyrus!

Born 4 years ago, 4 minutes after midnight to make May 2nd his birthday. He weighed 7lbs and 7 oz and now weighs 40 lbs. My boy is growing up...

Just a friendly reminder to brush your teeth 2-3 times a day [I try to brush with just water after lunch if I am home] and floss at least once a day.
